Stockport 2-2 Stevenage- Report

Stockport County's slim hopes of avoiding relegation from the Football League were dealt a major blow as Stevenage came back to claim a 2-2 draw.

Lawrie Wilson volleyed home a Rob Sinclair cross to give Stevenage a scarcely-deserved injury time equaliser.

There was little goalmouth action in the first half with the best chance falling to County's James Vincent.

His placed shot trickled agonisingly wide after a flowing move involving James Wallace and Danny Rowe.

The home side began the second half strongly but Stevenage broke to open the scoring in the 56th minute when John Mousinho crossed for Mark Roberts to crash home.

A desperate County threw everything at Stevenage and gained their reward from the penalty spot after a Wilson handball in the 67th minute. Greg Tansey netted his eighth goal of the season from the spot.

Just three minutes later a long clearance from Matt Glennon induced panic in the Stevenage defence and Matt Paterson was left with the simplest of headers to make it 2-1.

That looked like giving the Hatters all three points until Wilson's injury time intervention.
