Aldershot manager Terry Brown, will be a happy manager having taken all three points from Broadhall Way when his side under performed.

The first good chance of the match fell to Stevenage when some neat work by Michael Warner on the right wing was met by the head of Brian Quailey and just brushed past the right post.

On ten minutes, an inventive chip by Jon Brady caught the Shots defence napping and Quailey was through one on one with the keeper, but Nikki Bull saved well, low down.

Towards the middle of the half a panic seemed to descend upon the Shots defence as first Chris Giles and Bull both left a clearance and Anthony Elding almost pounced to score.

Moments later a suicidal backpass left Bull once again exposed. With Quailey bearing down on the ball, keeper Bull had to make a rushed clearance with the ball rebounding off Quailey and ending up just wide of the upright.

It took until the 36th minute for Aldershot to have their first real attempt on goal, former Borough captain Steve Watson blazing over the bar from the edge of the penalty box.

The game was turned on 50 minutes when an innocuous chip into the Stevenage Borough area bounced up awkwardly and struck the hand of Matt Hocking, a penalty was duly awarded.

Whilst it was clearly not a hand ball it did strike the hand. Roscoe D'Sane easily sent on-loan Boro keeper Rob Burch the wrong way for what turned out to be the matchwinner.

The Boro fight back was immediate, but short-lived, Quailey went close with a header and George Boyd was wide with a long shot.

While Boro huffed and puffed they didn't create any clear cut chances, Aldershot had a couple of snap shots at the other end with both Jon Challinor and D'Sane testing Burch, but he was equal to the task.
