AFC Wimbledon secure play-off spot despite stalemate at Stevenage
AFC Wimbledon secured their place in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs despite only managing a 0-0 draw at Stevenage.
In the driving seat going into the penultimate match, the Dons could have still been caught by Cambridge but their 2-2 draw with Plymouth secured AFC Wimbledon's berth in the top seven.
Boro had the better of the first half and deserved a lead at the break but for Kelle Roos in the AFC Wimbledon goal.
The on-loan Derby man twice thwarted Greg Luer, first when the striker got on the end of a short back pass by Darius Charles and secondly from close range following a dangerous cross by Jake Mulraney to leave the score goalless at half-time.
The second half failed to produce many clear-cut chances but the hosts came closest to scoring when substitute Adam Marriott curled a long-range shot just wide.
The Dons' best opportunity of the match fell to Sean Rigg in the 78th minute when the left-winger linked up well with Ade Azeez but he could only scuff his shot.
