Player Profile: George Boyd

Last updated : 01 September 2005 By Kevin Jones
A product from the EFCO system, George first appeared in a Boro shirt towards the end of the 2003/04 season, where he impressed with some good performances to help Boro finish in the top half. However it was last season that George made a big impact, playing at left-midfield George turned defences in side out as he used his superb dribbling abilities and pace to cause all sorts of problems to the opposition and played a key role in Boro's play off finish. However towards the end of last season the player was perhaps underused. This season though George has already made a great impact with assists and goals to help Boro make a decent start to the season.

His main role is Left Midfield, however George has been used as an attacking midfielder in the centre or just off the main striker. George has already attracted huge intrest from league clubs, but Boro have blocked any move yet to a league side. George has already been tipped to play championship football and seems the best EFCO product ever produced. Hopefully George can remain injury free and help Boro into the league this season.
