Westley patient on trialists

Stevenage boss Graham Westley will bide his time before deciding whether or not to offer contracts to a number of players on trial at the club. Released Aldershot striker Omer Riza and former Charlton man Chris Dickson were among the players to be given a chance in Wednesday's 2-0 friendly victory over Histon. But Westley wants to give his trialists more time to prove their worth before rushing into any decisions over their futures. "It's all about improvement with some of the lads that are in," he told BBC Three Counties Radio. "If they reach the standard we're looking for then we may do something." "Obviously anyone who is in trialling must fit into the category of what we're searching for. "No disrespect to the lads that are already here, but you can see from some of the lads we're looking at that they've got a different dimension to some of the lads already in the squad."
