Stevenage could recall midfielder Darren Murphy, who has only played once this season after dislocating his shoulder, then breaking his leg.
Striker Craig Reid scored four goals for the reserves this week and is pushing for a recall.
Torquay United manager Paul Buckle told BBC Radio Devon: "It's time for us all to give it everything we've got and if we can get a couple of good players in it can give us a really good chance of staying in there.
"Games are running out, we'll be into single figures very soon and it's time for us all to give it everything we've got.
"The remit was to improve on last season and we've definitely done that already and so hopefully we can go that one step further."
